Vitaliy Klitschko was elected Mayor of Kyiv in 2014. He has since won reelection twice, once in 2015 and once in 2020. During the Revolution of Dignity in 2014 he became one of the country’s most visible political figures and one of the leaders of the protest movement in Kyiv’s Maidan. Mayor Klitschko served as a Member of Parliament beginning in 2012. In 2010 was elected as Chair of the UDAR Party (Ukrainian Democratic Alliance for Reform). He holds an honorary title «Hero of Ukraine».
