Inequality Matters

Inequality Matters – Webinar Series

The OECD Champion Mayors for Inclusive Growth initiative has launched a new webinar series, Inequality Matters, to explore thematic topics related to inequality in cities. Organised in partnership with our Champion Mayors cities and partners, these webinars cover a range of themes featured on this platform.

Reshaping, Recovering, Resilience: How the COVID-19 Experience Can Help Build Inclusive Cities for the Future

To build cities and societies that can withstand future shocks, inequalities need to be addressed. Mayors need recovery plans that will reshape local economies and public spaces, take on major global issues including the low-carbon transition, the rise in inequalities and the digital divide, and prepare for the future of work in the COVID-19 era. This webinar explored what mayors learned during the pandemic and how they applied it to reshape cities and build toward a recovery that supports more inclusive cities for the future. Panelists: Matúš Vallo, Mayor of Bratislava, Slovak Republic, Sara Funaro, Deputy Mayor of Florence, Italy, Estibaliz Luengo, Director of Internationalisation, Bilbao, Spain, and Krishna Buenaventura, Provincial Planning and Development Officer, Tarlac, Philippines.
